Beauty Trend: Hair
Spring/Summer 2009
Hey Lady
On the flipside of the coin from the heavy rock'n'roll fringes seen at the likes of L'Wren Scott's spring/summer 2009 show is the contrasting ladylike direction hair is taking for the new season. Tousled, messy manes were out and modernisations of the traditional chignon, roll and pleat were seen at Chanel, Marni and Carolina Herrera. The look screams über-expense and high society; Yves Saint Laurent models wore ultra-neat rolls for 1940s glamour - experiment with horizontal and vertical twists to achieve the same.
