Several broadly varied influences stretching from Japan to Africa to Russian-born 1960s supermodel Verushka came together for spring/summer 2009's Amanda Wakeley show, giving the Lancôme team the tough job of distilling them all into one beauty look. Lead make-up artist Sharon Dowsett plumped for a safari-ready, super-chic and ultra-honed face - perfect for the summer heat. "Think rich girl," said Dowsett, who began with Lancôme's professional duty primer, La Base Pro, to achieve an especially even finish, "It's about polished skin and that natural perfection all wrapped up in a haze of beige."
