And while colour-blocking and potent tribal prints appeared to be the catwalk's answer to the current downturn in the global mood, make-up followed suit with bold shades, futuristic rainbow flashes and graphic patterns adorning models' faces. Hussein Chalayan's space-age cobalt sunglasses matched models' fuchsia lips, while the Gucci girls worked a tropical, electric blue, strategically positioned around the eye for maximum drama. The future's looking bright.
